VALENTINE’S DAY. The day we express our feelings in the form of hearts and flowers…and of course….candy. The day our love for one another is on full display. It’s always been one of my favorite holidays. Even as a kid I enjoyed getting conversation hearts and $1 carnations student council was selling during the lunch hours. Valentine’s Day took on different meanings for me, as I showered my husband and kids with a little extra heart shaped chocolate love on the day, though some of my favorite memories have always been sharing this holiday with my girlfriends. Until a few years ago, I hadn’t heard the term Galentine’s Day…but make no mistake…this is a thing. Galentine’s Day is the ultimate femme holiday, complete with boss babes hanging out an being true #friendshipgoals. So call up your girls and get ready to enjoy this love-centric holiday in full force…but where will you go? The Carmel Symphony Orchestra wants to throw their hat in the ring! I mean, who doesn’t love the Symphony?
Where to go for galentine’s Day
Just thinking about sitting back and listening to the greatest love songs of the world makes my heart swell. I’ve always loved going to the Symphony, and the Carmel Symphony Orchestra never disappoints. From the moment you step foot onto the entrance marble floors to the last note the orchestra plays, this is an experience you will never forget. Right here in Carmel!
What To Wear
It’s never a bad decision to go glam for a trip to the Symphony. I talked about that in my post at the start of the Symphony’s 2018-19 season. I opted for an off-the-shoulder dress and old Hollywood glamour hair. Isn’t it dreamy? Hey, it’s Valentine’s Day….go out with a BANG! Here are a few options similar to my dress. You’re in luck…most are on sale!
Style Tip: Never be afraid to wear a full length dress. Though the Symphony does not require Black Tie, it is appropriate…so why not?
Now that you’ve established what you’re wearing…it’s time to steal the show with a soft face beat. I do this look often, adding a little foundation, blush and the perfect shade of red lipstick. I’m not a huge fan of heavy makeup, hence the “soft” face beat. I’ve added a few of my favorites below for you to shop. Yes…these are sitting in my makeup bag as we speak!
Tickets for the February concerts are on sale now. Head over to their concert listings page and find the perfect experience. Grab your girlfriends and head out to the Symphony this Galentine’s Day!
