Hello loves! So, today I was toying around with this topic of "polished". What does that really mean? Is that word overwhelming? Is it something you can do everyday? Let's talk...
By definition, the word polished means refined, sophisticated, and elegant. Yes, it can carry weight if someone describes your style in this way. And yes...it can be overwhelming. The key is creating simple, pulled together looks, however, here at Eclectic Kurves, we think pushing the envelope a little bit is quite alright :)
I'm going to show you a couple of polished prints that keep the outfit sophisticated, but allows for a little extra flair. Polished does not mean boring. Bring on the BOLD prints!
First up- Green Prints on Bottom.
I love this look because the green pants are super funky and fun to wear. Great for work and play, they have unbelievable stretch and style. I added a green-dotted scarf for added texture. I think the prints play well off of each other due to their mutual color story. It's super cool that even though this look has major print status, it's still pulled together with basic black add-ons, creating a polished look.
It works right? A great bag and stilettos make pretty much anything look pulled together. #realtalk
Next up, Red Printed Flair on Top!
This top was giving me all levels of feels when I saw it in the store. So many things I love: prints, red, textured layering, bloused sleeves...need I say more? I also feel like its very 70's-esque. Maybe I should be singing working 9 to 5? Anyway...
Again, using black as a natural neutral is key. I loved playing with both looks...and I felt polished, even though I showed a little personality.
