Eclectic Table: Summer Dinner Party
**This post contains sponsored content. All opinions are my own.
SUMMER ISN'T OVER YET! With the temperature still soaring into the 90's, there's still time to host that epic Summer party of your dreams. But where to start? What to cook? How to dress? I'm covering that and more with the help of my friend and Chef Tanorria Askew of "Tanorria's Table". Recently, we teamed up to throw our own epic Summer party and decided to share it with all of you. We call it Eclectic Table! Pretty catchy, right? Follow along as I take you through the setup, menu and outfit choices for your end of Summer soiree'.
Set the Scene
A great dinner party starts with setting the scene. We chose an outdoors space for our set up. I wanted the centerpiece to scream Summer, so I enlisted the help of an amazing local florist Candace of Createrella Floral and Design. I asked for bright colored flowers with a garden feel...and she didn't disappoint. They were absolutely stunning and the perfect foundation for our table set up. Next, we added small, inexpensive gold votive holders for dim lighting later that night. For less than $3 a holder, the literally lit up the table. To continue the low light vibe well into the evening, we added the perfect garden string lights to set the mood.
Pro Tip: Keep your table setting fuss-free for your garden party. We really wanted the floral arrangements to steal the show, so we grabbed simple white plates to serves as a neutral palette. Add a few wine glasses and voila! You're all set!
What to wear to a Garden Party
KEEP IT SIMPLE SISTER As the host, you want to keep your outfit easy, but pulled together. Think a crisp white blouse with linen pants or a great wrap dress. Since I love dresses, I opted for a great floral maxi dress from my friends at Dia & Co. Maxi dresses are a Summer must-have! I talked about them a lot this season. Style Tip: Grab a great maxi that you can transition into Fall with a denim jacket or moto jacket! Add a pair of cute sandals and fun jewelry to complete your look! Let's be honest, a great maxi goes good with wine :)
What's on the Menu Chef?
Hosting a successful dinner party isn't the easiest task. From cleaning the house to setting the decor, it can be pretty exhausting....and you haven't prepared the menu yet! Luckily, there are people like Chef Tanorria Askew who can step in and save the day. Hiring a personal chef for your Summer party allows you the opportunity to mingle with your guests and share in the dining experience with them, instead of staying in the kitchen all evening. I asked Chef Tannoria to prepare the perfect Summer party menu. Here'e what she came up with. Head over to her website to see the full recipes and her perspective on the perfect end of season get together!
Drink wine and enjoy Time with Your Guests!
Now we are ready to party! With myself on decor and Tanorria doing her thing in the kitchen, we were an unstoppable team! Tanorria and I grabbed our DELISH food and headed back out to the deck to get ready for our guests to arrive. Of course, we needed a great wine to compliment our wine cake, so we partnered with Chateau de Pique. The Riesling was a fave among the guests because it tastes like apples! I'm in no way rushing Fall, but hey...
We really enjoyed hanging out and enjoying one of the last few weekends of Summer. Now it's your turn, and to help you out with planning your EPIC Summer Garden Party, we're doing a GIVEAWAY!!!
