How To Throw An Epic Holiday Party At Home

DSC_0330.jpg

the holidays are not canceled.

I know, the Holiday season looks very different this year. From canceled plans to caring for loved ones, we’ve all made sacrifices. Every year I’ve always thrown an epic Christmas party. Specialty drinks, fun outfits, and festive foods. We may not have a house full of people over this year, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t having a party. I figured we all needed a little festive cheer in our lives, so I’ve pulled together some of my tried and true ideas to keep your spirits high and have the best Holiday themed get together! Unsure of what foods to prepare? No worries! I have teamed up with my friends Sonja and Alex of A Couple Cooks to bring you fun food ideas for your stay-at-home party. Let’s dive in!

Step #1: Get Dressed for the Occasion…even if you’re staying in!

A little sparkle always makes me feel festive! Put on that sequins dress or glitter sweater and get ready for a fun night! Take pictures, put on music, and get ready for a night to remember! That’s me over there…Ready. To. Party.

Festive Outfit Ideas:

  • Sequins is never a bad choice. I’ve listed a few of my fave sequins looks for you to check out!

  • Stick with one color all over, but different textures. Go fuzzy, go with fringe, go with rhinestones…just have fun with it! Red is definitely my favorite color and so appropriate for the season, so I’ll list a few fave red pieces for you to try out too!

Step #2: Have a Zoom Christmas Party!

If 2020 has brought us anything, it has brought us together over Zoom! A few ideas:

  • Gather friends and family together to play games. Get your laugh on playing Minute to Win It, Cards Against Humanity, and Charades (how fun!). These are the moments we want to remember this year…right?

  • Carole Together…online. Sing family favorites like Santa Claus is Coming to Town (a fave around here) and O Holy Night (a classic). Music always brings us together…especially in times of longing.

  • Do Christmas gift unwrapping live and laugh the night away. Share this season with your loved ones and create new memories and new traditions. See their reaction to your gift and cherish it!

  • Have Happy Hour at any hour. Who needs to wait until 5 pm to get flirty with a cocktail in 2020? We’ll discuss what to bring to this below, but trust me. This is DEFINITELY an option you want to add to the list!
