Plus in Pastels: The Spring Necessities

Birds are singing, florals are in full bloom, and here I am trying to get my wardrobe together to match the season's mood. The obvious choice is florals, as they are a Spring staple....but what color palette? Pastels are so hot right now, and of course, as a plus size girl, I had to show you a look that sits right in this trend...at a fashionable size 22.

I couldn't rock just any floral frock. I loved the contrast of bright, high pigment flowers on a soft pastel pink background. The result is both fun and flirty! The ruffled detail adds a soft, feminine silhouette. It's also a faux wrap dress, which is great for every figure (Thank you, DVF).

For my ladies that hesitate to show their arms or simply get chilly easily, a denim jacket is a staple wardrobe piece for any season, but definitely for those transitional ones like Spring and Fall. I chose a dark denim jacket to offset the bright pastels, but this look could easily be accomplished with lighter or even white denim. I'll do a post on my fave jean jackets/shops soon, so check back!

Styling Tip: To keep your pastels cute, but age appropriate (hello...#Thisis30ish), wear a nude shoe. I chose a strappy nude sandal that gave me a little height and a lot of sass!

What are some of your fave Spring wardrobe essentials? Would you wear pastels?
