Crop Toppin, Lips Poppin

Hey gurl hey! I was so excited when Ashley Nell Tipton won Project Runway. As the first-ever plus size designer to walk away with the coveted title, I was beyond inspired. When JCPenney decided to partner with her and launch an affordable plus-size clothing line created by the curvy goddess, I knew I had to have a few pieces. I love everything about the line! It's comfortable, but fashionable and allows women of many sizes to embrace their inner sassy side. Today I'm rocking the striped skirt from the collection that I instantly bonded with. The scuba fabric is oh-so-soft and the full skirt looks great on my apple shape. It has a matching crop top, but I wanted to do something different that matched my personality a little more. Less match-y match-y..ya dig? Geez...how many times can I say match-y...

Anyway, I remembered I had this black strappy crop top I picked up from Forever 21+ and thought it would pair nicely. A little bit edgy, a little bit girly? I think so :) That brings me to my next topic...wearing a crop top after 30...

Every eclectic beauty has the right to choose what she wears and how she interprets a trend. Shine on sister...shine on.

Every eclectic beauty has the right to choose what she wears and how she interprets a trend. Shine on sister...shine on.

As a newbie in the 30's world, I thought this would be a good topic to cover. I hear a lot of women saying they can't pull trends off...that they are too old... Really, I think you are as old as you feel...so wear what you want, 30, 40 and so on! The cool thing about fashion and trends is the interpretation of the wearer. So crop tops are hot right now, and you want to wear one, but not something super *out there*? This outfit is a great example of how to stay on trend and still be somewhat modest. I love the strap detail of this crop top, but I also chose it because it was a little bit longer and showed less of my mid-section. Now, I am all here for curves, but I think it's important to know yourself and comfort level. This was mine today. No judgement if yours is less or more skin showing :) Bottom line, know yourself and push a little...and pat yourself on the back for that win. Don't shy away from trying something because society says you shouldn't...I am not here for that....you shouldn't be either boo. #girlbye

What are your thoughts? Would you rock a crop top after 30? What are some of your struggles with staying on-trend and pushing the envelope? Let me know below!

Below I've linked the deets to the actual pieces/places featured in the post. Get yours before they sell out!!! Enjoy today!
