RompHER 3 Ways with Lane Bryant

I've always said I love a great print in black and white. The contrast in the two negatives is striking. Why do you think zebra print has lasted this long in fashion? :) Personally, I'm more of an abstract, or tribal print fan in these colors, so when I saw this romper from Lane Bryant, I was pretty set on grabbing it up, I just had to get over one little hurdle...

It's a romper....and I was scared of rompers. I carry most of my weight in my mid section, so I've always shyed away from wearing this style...but I secretly wanted to for-ev-er. Just recently I took a leap of faith and rocked a blue jumpsuit that was romper-esque, but this felt like more of a dare to it's bold print. Ultimately the need to touch this fabric and throw my own style on it outweighed the fear of #vbo. I'm living my best life people! Apple-shaped an all! 💋

I was sooooooo excited to find out I worried for nothing. Not only did I love the print (love it), I loved the FIT. This romper gathers at my smaller waist and is flowy and comfortable. No clinging to my stomach! (Styling tip: this romper has adjustable straps, so I loosened them to up the bust room...I'm a DD, so it was a blessing! Also, I sized up apple gals-give yourself a little room in the legs to reduce clinging to your mid-section.)

Now, I'm will tell you, it's a lot of print...so for my ladies who are nervous about that, I'm showing you 3 ways you could wear this. They aren't revolutionary and easy to duplicate!

1. Add a Blazer

Adding this black blazer made the romper work-appropriate. Find a statement necklace and cute sandal for a business causal look with edge.

2. Wear a Pull-Over Top

This is my fave look. Grab a tee from your closet, tie it in a knot so it's more of a crop top and voila! You've got HOT printed gauchos paired with it! This completely breaks up the print and gibes the look a youthful vibe.

3. InVEST in White

Major styling tip: Too small button down shirt in your closet? Open it up and make it a vest! You could always buy a vest too, but I'm all about repurposing :). This shirt came with a belt, but you could easily add your own to recreate this look. The structure of the shirt breaks up the print in the middle and polishes an otherwise flowy look.

So there you have it. I overcame my fear of wearing rompers while apple-shaped, and you can too! Let me know what you think of my styling in the comments!

Enjoy today!
