December 20th is officially the first day of Winter, however, when you live in Indiana you never know what you’re going to get. That’s why I stock up on transitional items like sweaters, scarves and vests that I can layer throughout the cooler months just in case good ol’ Mother Nature decides to give Indiana weather a split personality complex. One of the places that does all things transitional wardrobes right is Chic Soul. I’ve been following them for months, loving all of the easy-to-wear items they come out with. I created a look book of my fave Fall items that I plan on rocking for months to come. Take a look!

The Only Scarf You Need

From denim jackets to off-the-shoulder tops, this blanket scarf is everything. I loved the warm colors throughout! You can wear them with a denim jacket for great layering during colder days, or just throw it on with a cute top for a fun girls night out on a warmer Fall day. For Winter months, use scarves as the ultimate neck accessory, but don’t forget about belting them or using them as headwear. Scarves are one of my all-time favorite wardrobe staples.

Red Hot Mama

I fell in love with this top the minute I saw it on the Chic Soul site. I have always been a fan of buffalo-check print. It reminds me of Fall and Christmas, making it the perfect top to keep out from September to March! I styled it with a pair of leggings (yes, leggings are pants) and a fanny pack because…I love fanny packs. I started wearing them in the Summer and I’m never looking back. Fight Me.

Since this shoot, I’ve been rocking this shirt with leather and denim skirts as the weather has gotten colder. It truly is a versatile top! I plan on wearing it all winter! There are so many buffalo-check options on the Chic Soul website for you to choose from like this top. Take a look!

Can we talk for a second about loving our bodies, bellies and all? Listen, even your fave Blogger Baes have moments of insecurity. I've been sitting on this series of pictures featuring two amazing pieces from this collaboration because the shirt showed every lump and bump on my stomach. I started to just post the pic of me rocking the scarf that dreams are made of, but then I decided you needed to see more. Truth is, I felt super sexy and comfortable in this shirt. Heck, I even gave you a little shoulder action. So here I am, in all my glory saying I LOVE ME, belly and all. Also, you need this shirt. When you are transitioning into Winter and wanting to wear your thinner tops for layering, always remember to add a jacket or chunky sweater. That was you can still rock those pieces that make you feel sexy for your next Girls Night Out!

Not Your Average Sweater

I’ve always been so impressed by the sweater options at Chic Soul. I’d seen the “ripped hem” look on a few of my girlfriend’s sweaters and was eager to try the trend out. This sweater did not disappoint! Coming in multiple solid colors like hunter green and burgundy, there is no excuse for not getting festive this Holiday season. Talk about the perfect way to transition into Winter! Plus, if you’re feisty like me and think leopard is a neutral, you’ll want to try this print too (exact sweater I’m wearing below!).

The Poncho Life Chose Me

Lord knows I love a good wardrobe staple. Ponchos are the perfect item for your transitioning wardrobe. No matter your size or shape, ponchos just work. Take them from warmer Fall days to cooler winter nights with these tips:

  • Throw on a turtleneck underneath the poncho for layering that allows the poncho to still be the star!

  • Add fun long jewelry to accent the poncho!

  • Wear denim with fun patterned boots to complete the look!

  • Feeling flirty? Throw on a long-sleeved swing dress (pulls away from the body and has tons of movement when you walk) that peeks out underneath the poncho. All tights and you are ready for the town!
