Wearing Brights While Plus Size

As a plus size girl, I spent most of my life walking into stores that (if plus was an option) carried several black or darker hued options. It's like they were telling me to hide my body, and suggesting I wasn't worthy of bright colors. Does this resonate with any of you? I think it will with a few. Today I'm sharing a tip I have for wearing brights while plus size. Oh, and to whomever says plus size girls can't wear color, and bright colors....#WatchUs and #TakeNotes.

Tip: Nervous to go bright? Start with a solid print this Summer.

I've met so many women who get nervous about wearing brights. I get it. We've been conditioned to head towards gray and black; told to wear baggy dark clothing that hides our curves. Resist the urge babes! Grab that bright item that caught your eye! Nervous or not sure where to start? I say start with a solid hue. You could wear a bright pant, or bright top if an entire look has you running for the hills. Bold prints are always fun, but if you aren't comfortable with prints, this is a great alternative to get started. I did a post a while back about using color prints/solid together. Check out that post too. Now, in this post, you see me taking this on this trend full force. As one of the hottest trends of this Summer, I'm not shying away from bright tones! I fell in love with this Eloquii dress for its bright pink hue on the website, and it didn't disappoint in person!

Seriously, where was this dress when I was growing up? It's so vibrant and fits my personality to a T! Since it's a cotton dress, I can wear it to events this Summer without feeling like I'm going to sweat my life away. And I sweat...so.....yea.

The added sleeve eyelet detail and bow in the center put this dress in the great category. Feminine and fun, here are a few up close pics of the detail. P.S. I added these bomb and super extra earrings to tie it all in. How did I do?
